The new dual-core Atom SoC (Clover Trail+) platform has been announced, as well as the new LTE solution and the "Bay Trail" technology, the efforts that this company puts in presenting mobile devices and Smartphones on the market in the development with the help of the platform based on the Intel Atom Z2420 processor.

The new Intel Atom platform (Clover Trail+) brings the leading performances in high economy and a great battery autonomy. The product brings the common advantages of an Intel processor, including high performances that enable you to enjoy searching the Internet, watching HD movies and Android apps.

The dual-core 32nm Intel Atom processors— Z2580, Z2560, Z2520 are available with the speed of 2.0Intel MWC GHz, 1.6 GHz and 1.2 GHz. The processor has a support for the Intel Hyper-Threading technology, it can handle four applications at a time and it additionally improves the efficiency of the Atom cores.

The new Atom platform secures advanced displaying possibilities, including the support for two cameras, with the primary camera sensor at 16 mega pixels. The platform has the Intel Identity Protection technology, that enables strong authentication for cloud services like online banking, online sales, online games and social networks. Considering that the Intel IPT technology is built in a chip it can ensure more secure protection for accessing clouds. With WUXGA screen support of 1900×1200, the platform will enable the manufacturing of Android Tablet devices with bigger screens. It also covers the support for Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), the Intel Wireless Display technology, the HSPA+ of 42Mbps with Intel XMM 6360 thin modem solution, and the new industrial standard UltraViolet Common File format. This platform will be supported by ASUS, Lenovo and ZTE.

Intel XMM 7160 is the smallest multi mode-multi band LTE solution of low energy costs, that supports a large number of devices including Smartphones, Tablets and Ultrabook devices. The Global modem 7160 supports 15 LTE networks at a time, and Intel currently delivers its 4G LTE data solution with one mode. The delivery of the multimode solution will start at the end of the first half of the year.

Intel also introduced the platform based on the Intel Atom processor Z2420 (Lexington). Based on the Atom processor Z2760, the first quad-core Atom system on a chip will be the most powerful processor of today, doubling computer performances. The platform "Bay Trail" is announced for the middle of 2013., but it is already ready and is working on operating systems like Windows and Android. 

Intel is currently working with companies like Compal, ECS, Pegatron and Wistron to speed up the appearance of the "Bay Trail" Tablet on the market. Intel is also widening its cooperation with the leading OEM partners, building strong foundations for Tablet devices based on the Intel Atom processor Z2760, that will be represented by Acer, ASUS, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, LG and Samsung.
