What Computer Field Makes the Most Money?
This is a common question amongst many and is also very annoying. First of all, don't go in a field just for the money alone, you'll regret it in the long run. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about!
Here are the three big ones:
Software Engineering and Programming
Any development related field is going to give you the best bang for your education buck. There are literally tons of directions you can take as a programmer because it's super-versatile (is that a real word?). It pays well right away from the get go. You don't need ivy league eduction. Just about any solid university program will do the trick.
Again, same deal as programming. It's still in demand no matter what you hear in the papers. Just as versatile as programming. In most cases, it pays just slightly less than Software Engineering. But it makes up for it by being slightly more in demand in the job market.
Those in the field swear by it. To most, it's job satisfaction is 10 out of 10. The pay is very good in most cases. And once you hone your skills as a network security person, you can go in just about any computer networking field out there with very little work.
As far as the money goes, these three are the big ticket at the moment. But please, for the sake of your sanity and spirit...look at other indicators besides money if you're willing to spend the next 10-15 yrs in a career. Things that also matter may be: Job Satisfaction, Job Demand, Work Demands, Promotional Ladder, etc.
Now that you've gotten free know-how on this topic, try to grow your skills even faster with online video training. Then finally, put these skills to the test and make a name for yourself by offering these skills to others by becoming a freelancer. There are literally 2000+ new projects that are posted every single freakin' day, no lie!
